Biography of Prof. Dr. Saeid Jalali-Asadabadi

Prof. Dr. Saeid Jalali-Asadabadi, an esteemed physicist, was born on 18 June 1966 in Harsin, a city in Kermanshah, Iran. His academic journey began on 23 September 1985 when he enrolled at Sharif University of Technology in Tehran, Iran, to pursue his Bachelor's degree in physics.

He later advanced to the Isfahan University of Technology, earning his Master's degree on 22 September 1996. His research focused on the field of Quantum Chaos, investigating the interplay between Quantum Mechanics and Classical Chaos Theory. See M.Sc. Thesis.

On 23 September 1998, he embarked on his Ph.D. studies, delving into the valence of strongly correlated f-electron compounds through the analysis of electric field gradients. This work culminated in a landmark publication in Physical Review B 66, 195103 (2002): The Valency of Rare Earths in RIn3 and RSn3: Ab Initio Analysis of Electric-Field Gradients , see also Ph.D. Thesis.

On 18 June 2003, he joined the Condensed Matter Group in the Department of Physics at the University of Isfahan as an Assistant Professor. Over the years, his dedication and contributions to condensed matter physics earned him a promotion to Associate Professor on 9 October 2013 and subsequently to Full Professor on 23 December 2023.

He is an authority in Density Functional Theory (DFT), leveraging this powerful computational framework to study the properties of materials. His work extensively utilizes advanced tools like the WIEN2k computational package, enabling precise modeling of material behaviors. His research encompasses diverse topics, including magnetism, superconductivity, optical properties, and transport phenomena. One of his significant contributions, the study Elastic Constants of Cubic Crystals, showcases his expertise in computational material science.

As a dedicated mentor and educator, he has inspired countless students, teaching courses in quantum mechanics, solid-state physics, and computational physics. His teaching philosophy integrates theoretical knowledge with computational tools, preparing students to tackle modern scientific challenges.

An active member of the global scientific community, he has contributed to numerous international collaborations, conferences, and editorial boards. His career exemplifies a relentless pursuit of scientific excellence, leaving a lasting legacy in condensed matter physics and computational materials science.
